Kyle J. Daly

Freelance Writer

I hold a bachelor’s degree from Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication. I have worked at multiple newspapers in places such as Arizona, Guam and Wisconsin. In 2016, I enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. In 2021, I commissioned as an officer. During my time in the military, I have continued to pursue my passion of reporting and writing. My views expressed on this website and in my work represent my own. They do not represent the Marine Corps or the Department of Defense. I can be reached at kyle.joseph.daly@gmail.com

Journalism

I graduated from ASU in December 2011. I held internships at the Arizona Republic and the Orange County Register in California. I worked full-time at The Post-Crescent in Appleton, Wisconsin, and The Pacific Daily News in Guam.

Military

I enlisted in the U.S. Marines in Guam. I have trained in Okinawa, Australia, the Philippines, South Korea and mainland Japan.

Running

Over the past decade, I have completed 5Ks, 10Ks, half marathons, marathons and ultramarathons. Running is a big part of my life. It keeps me healthy and has been my go-to medicine during times of high stress. I will always encourage a non-runner to take up the sport.
